Christine Witham

Christine works with silks, lace, felts, spangles and beads to create unusual and eye-catching textile jewellery.  She crafts each piece entirely by hand in a process that can take many hours to produce a truly unique statement necklace.

To Jersey residents Christine is perhaps best known for a series of four stunning embroidered jackets, commissioned by well-known Jersey resident and Patron of the Arts, David Gainsborough-Roberts.

Christine originally trained in Textiles at Goldsmiths College.  She went on to gain a Masters Degree and to complete a teaching qualification.

An experienced artist, she has continued to experiment and develop her skills throughout her career and has won many awards, most recently, The Judges Award at Jersey’s Textile Showcase 2009. Her work has featured in a number of publications both locally and internationally. Christine teaches both children and adults regularly and runs a beautiful Victorian-style vegetable garden at one of Jersey’s Manor Houses.
