My wife and I popped into the Green Olive at 2.28 pm half expecting that we'd be too late as the kitchen closed at 2.30pm. Not a problem Paul the chef was only too happy to cook for us which was a great start to our lunch. My wife Jean chose the scallops on a rosemary skewer with Sliced Jersey Royals in a creamy sauce and I chose the Sea Bass on a bed of Jersey seafood Risotto flavoured with saffron. Both dishes were beautifully presented and we noticed that there was a little sign on the table giving the names of local suppliers - a nice touch. We both enjoyed our main course so much that we decided to share half way through. We then ventured into the sweets and ....wow... I had Basil flavoured Creme Brulee and Jean had the chilled rhubarb coulee with lavender flavoured shortbread and Le Mare brandy sorbet. Yet again we shared although I must admit that Jean most certainly had the bigger half. |
