My passion is for the outdoors, whether it is at home in Jersey or atop a granite peak in the Californian High Sierra or at the foot of a creaking glacier in Iceland. The parallels between the different landscapes are the same. They are all exquisite, overflowing in inspiration, soothing and calming in their influence, full of hidden detail and brimming with a life affirming vibrancy that makes you so glad to be ‘there’ at ‘that time’.

Photography is my excuse for getting out; not that I need an excuse living in Jersey. One of the most common comments about my photography from people is something along the lines of “is that really here”? The old truism applies, we do take what we have around us for granted, we do stop noticing!

Go up to the north coast, or Ouaisne headland, walk across Les Landes in the evening. Don’t make the sunset your goal, enjoy the soft warm light before sunset and watch how the colours glow and hum for the 15-20 minutes after, particularly in the rocks and vegetation. Scramble down to the waterfall at the bottom of Mourier Valley or over the rocks at Greve to little Greve and enjoy your isolation and solitude.

St Ouens is great in the summer but at its peak in the winter, when the Atlantic becomes a seething, brooding hammering backdrop to the resilient coastline with its deceptively fragile sands and dunes. Jersey is full of little secrets as well as the Tourist attractions.

As well as presenting images in the traditional format I like to experiment with slightly more graphic presentations of the scene and I hope that my style is modern clean and timeless.

I am very pleased to be a part of the Genuine Jersey group and I hope that my work reflects my sense of good fortune and pride at living in such a beautiful environment. I care passionately about what I do and the concept of provenance is important, I hope that my work not only reflects Jersey but also my passion for it.

I attend the craft markets on a regular basis and I have some work on show at the Harbour Gallery. My full portfolio can be seen online at the website. Most of the photographs are limited editions in runs of 50 or 100, and most images can be enlarged up to A1.
