A sign of the times: leading business becomes part of the Genuine Jersey success story

Date: 21/06/2016 | Posted by John Garton

Signtech – the largest visual communications company in the Channel Islands – has given its full backing to Genuine Jersey by sponsoring the producers’ organisation. It joins a growing band of firms who take pride in their Island roots and recognise the importance of harnessing local talent and supporting local suppliers.

Sponsors can use the distinctive Genuine Jersey mark, which is widely recognised as a hallmark of local quality, in their branding. In turn, they can support the movement through a financial contribution or providing a service in kind.

Established in 1986, Signtech provides a full range of sign-making services ranging from design through to print, manufacture, servicing and installation.

Signtech Managing Director Sean Guegan said: “Signtech has worked very closely with local businesses of all sizes over the last 20 years and we are a strong supporter and sponsor of local events such as Simply Christmas, Spice, The Festival of Words and Skipton Open Studios.

“As a local business that has grown from a one-man band to a business with over 20 employees, we know just how important guidance and support are for business growth and we are passionate about supporting local talent. Being a creative business, we are inspired by innovative ideas and the possibilities that exist when local economies develop and thrive.

“Having worked closely with several Genuine Jersey Members over the last two decades, becoming a GJ sponsor seemed a logical step and we are proud to be associated with the organisation.”

Genuine Jersey Chief Executive John Garton said: “The contribution from sponsors, in whatever form it is given, helps us to develop the Genuine Jersey brand, which is now a byword for the best that the Island has to offer. When Islanders and visitors buy produce and products bearing the mark they can do so in the knowledge that they are supporting local jobs, boosting the Island’s economy, embracing seasonality and reducing their carbon footprint. It is a win-win for everyone.”
