Artist Eddie Blampied’s work is instantly recognisable, it is filled with larger than life characters and a good dose of seaside humour. Eddie creates a range of work including wooden boats, signs, paintings and caricatures. He is also behind the artwork on legendary local cafe The Hungry Man.

Eddie gave us a bit more information about his work and inspiration:

My name is Edward Blampied, and I am an Artist based in Jersey. I am best known for my Caricatures and Cartoons.

I have been Painting all my life, I studied art at Southampton University and Winchester School of Art, I have been a full time Artist for Five years.

My inspiration mainly comes from people. I want my paintings to fill you with joy, and remind you of a less cluttered and complicated time. The world we live in can be cruel, and filled with worry and stress. I have created my own world through my paintings, a world of fun, bursting with colour, and just a little bit sexy too!

A typical day for me goes like this: get up, eat, paint, eat, go to bed.

My most popular item of work is my Caricatures. They make wonderful Gifts for friends and Loved Ones.

You can find me doing Caricatures around the Island in the Summer. But I can always be contacted through my Facebook page Edward Blampied (Artist) or email me on eddieblampied@gmail.com.
